Southwestern Pueblo Lifestyle Comes Naturally for New Mexican Artist Fernando Padilla, Jr. and Family, and now thanks to Katishtya Trails Mercantile, LLC, we hope to expand from the southwest to all points beyond. We hope we can do the same for you, family, friends and associates! Here’s a little about our name:
Katishtya:
Is one of the original names for San Felipe Pueblo (New Mexico) before the Europeans arrival to the southwest.San Felipe Pueblo/Katishtya is now nestled on the west and east banks of the Rio Grande at the base of the mesas, Katishtya remains strong to its cultural history and traditions.
Trails:
All Pueblos were part of extensive aboriginal trading networks that stretched across the country, between multiple cultures, as extensive archaeology and historical research has revealed.
Mercantile:
The characteristics of being a merchant or in trading, bringing goods and products necessary to the life and livelihood of individuals and families.
“Katishtya Trails Mercantile”:
It is our expressed desire that “Katishtya Trails Mercantile” becomes that resurrection of the historical extensive trading networks first established by ancestral Native Americans within the American continents…and beyond. “KTM” initiatives will be to plan and execute various marketing opportunities to offer multicultural arts and crafts representative of tribes to Native households with Native American décor. From framing artworks, photos, and memorabilia; one-of-a-kind furnishings and accessories; textiles, fabrics, and fashion wear; handcrafted jewelry; Traditional and Contemporary artworks from various artisans and craftspeople will also be available. These items and products can be viewed online or up close when we exhibit at a festival or market in your area.
